Customize tooltip

Tooltip is a common user interface element, activated when the user hovers the cursor over an item. When the tooltip is activated, a small box with the text you specified will appear.

General tooltip settings

General tooltip settings will be applied to all series in your chart.

  1. In the upper-right corner, click Edit. 
  2. In the right-hand sidebar, click Data Series.
  3. Click the General tab to open it.
  4. Click checkbox next to Tooltip to turn it on or off.
  5. Click Insert variables to open the dropdown menu.
  6. Select the variable you want to insert into the tooltip.
  7. In the tooltip editor, type in any additional text you want to appear in the tooltip.

    Our tooltips support text formatting, such as bold and italic text, as well as horizontal line. Select text or variable item in the tooltip editor and click one of the formatting icons to apply formatting, or add a horizontal line.

  8. Click the checkbox next to Share tooltip between variables to enable displaying tooltips for all series in your chart simultaneously.

Series tooltip settings

  1. In the upper-right corner, click Edit. 
  2. In the right-hand sidebar, click Data Series.
  3. Click a series to expand it.

     A quicker way to select a series is to click the bar, line, or symbol representing that series in the chart.

  4. Next to Tooltip, click Customize.
  5. Click Insert variables to open the dropdown menu.
  6. Select the variable you want to insert into the tooltip.
  7. In the tooltip editor, type in any additional text you want to appear in the tooltip.

All changes are applied automatically and you can preview them in real time.
